Gravity Base Alloys
Semco manufacturers the ZA alloys; ZA8, ZA12, ZA27; each have varying ranges for Aluminum, Copper, Magnesium and Nickel. The ZA alloys are primarily used for gravity casting in sand and permanent molds or they can be pressure die cast on cold chamber machines. The exception, ZA8, because of it's low melting temperature can be hot chamber cast. ZA alloys have replaced many iron and bronze applications due to the ZA alloys' high fluidity, strength, hardness, purity and underside shrinkage. ZA alloys are used for tooling and decorative plating.
